Judicial Practice at Pavlova & Partners is noted in the study of Pravo.ru among the best on the Russian market

Pravo.ru made a rating of law firms, which manage to win in court more often than others.

In the period of economic turbulence, when business began to fight in court even for amounts that were previously considered not so significant, the number of disputes has increased. Accordingly, the importance of the litigation practice in the legal consulting has increased - especially against the backdrop of the downfall of other practices that are less in demand in the troubled economy. There were also leaders of litigation - companies that manage to win in court more often than others. Journalists of Pravo.ru tried to understand, how the number and correlation of different types of disputes change today and which law firms are most successful in representing the interests of clients.

Over the past few years, the market of legal services in general and litigation in particular, as recognized by its participants, has been actively changing - both qualitatively and quantitatively. In the years following the economic collapse, the number of trials has increased dramatically. Now this growth has significantly slowed down, but the minimum financial threshold of claims is still decreasing. The companies dispute literally over every penny - the money that would have prevented companies from initiating the proceedings before, today end up in court without any discussion. "The minimum money threshold, at which the party decides to recourse to a court, has now become significantly lower" - concedes Yuri Vorobyev, Partner at Pepeliaev Group.

These conclusions are confirmed by the analysis of the judicial burden on business conducted by the analysts of Pravo.ru, according to which the dynamics of data on economic disputes in arbitration courts of Russia in 2014-2016 was analyzed. The survey covered a total of 4.9 million arbitration cases. The results showed that disputes for the sums less than 500,000 rubles account for more than 80% of the total number of disputes, which, according to experts, demonstrates the current state of the economy. Large claims amounting to more than 100 million rubles constitute less than 1% of all disputes. At the same time, the average amount of a large claim decreased by 17% over 3 years and constitutes 455 million rubles.
